On 24.10.2025, another workshop for Alumni-Industry, organized by QTDI/IBCM took place. During this event the participants discussed the way research can be used from the area of universities in an industrial environment. Companies, Students, Academic Staff and Alumni participated at the Workshop to talk about how research results can be used to solve real world problems particularly in the fields of Digitalization, Green Transition and Process Optimization.
Some major aspects that were discussed during the workshop were the role of Alumni. As a link between University and Industry, they apply their acquired knowledge in a real-world environment. In addition to these positive aspects, they pointed out existing gaps; primarily the lack of structural frameworks to integrate scientific findings into companies.
During the workshop, there were discussions regarding how research contributes to economic development. These contributions are realized in terms of improved processes, cost reductions, creation of new products/services, etc. An additional focus was put on developing easy-to-use and long-term-cooperation-models such as joint projects or placements of alumni in companies.
At the end of the workshop, the focus turned towards future activities. Identify possible partner organizations and maintain an active exchange between the involved parties.
