IBCM Career Day 2025: A Step Forward with AL4LIFE and Professor Agron Hajdari

On 12 May 2025, the Public International Business College Mitrovica (IBCM) organised the traditional Career Day, an event designed to help current students and graduates enhance their professional prospects. This time, the event surpassed the standard model of presentations and stands we had seen so far. It was a unique experience, combining preparation, practical exposure, and close association with industry, academia, and NGO partners. The highlight of this program was the AL4LIFE project, and IBCM’s involvement in providing long-term support to our alumni.

One of the day's highlight sessions was conducted in the Consultation Room, where Professor Agron Hajdari organized a workshop on the development of soft skills and taught the IBCM students how to write CVs, cover letters, and prepare for interviews. The interactive session was about improving communication skills, building professional confidence, and understanding employer expectations in today's competitive job market. Students actively participated in mock interviews and received personalized feedback on their presentation skills and professional demeanor from Prof. Agron Hajdari. The goal was to demonstrate in practice to young people how to present themselves effectively in the corporate world, recognize their inherent value, and make informed, practical career choices. With the Unlocking Youth Potential Toolkit, this workshop provided students and alumni with practical tools that they could successfully apply when approaching their potential employers or planning their next course of action. Professor Hajdari emphasised the need to know oneself and be clear and confident in articulating one's strengths. His message, drawn from the objectives of the AL4LIFE project, underscored the values of flexibility, preparation, and professionalism as habits that will create a long and satisfying career. Prof. Hajdari mentioned that the Erasmus+ AL4LIFE project has built a strong partnership with Western Balkan and European Higher Education Institutions, and is dedicated to establishing a specific alumni culture, where all former students are networked, supported, and informed. Professor Hajdari's workshop was a perfect example of that vision, a place where experience, practice, and motivation came together.

Career Day concluded with a fair on campus, where students and alumni had the opportunity to speak one-on-one with representatives from various organisations and companies. This was a classic case of how theory, guidance, and opportunity can be combined synergistically when supported by a framework such as AL4LIFE. The day closed with a relaxed cocktail and networking reception, and students received certificates of appreciation for attending the IBCM Career Day 2025.
